Kindred: Making Space in Space is an exhibition taking place in downtown Louisville, Kentucky in March 2018, featuring art by girls and young women that imagines the worlds beyond our world. What lies beyond the stars for women? What does the future look like for us after Earth? What challenges do we face and how do we face them? How do we help each other survive?
Kentucky girls and women ages 10 - 21 are invited to submit works of poetry, short fiction, visual art, instrumental music, dance, vocal music, fashion, and monologue around the theme of women creating new worlds in outer space and beyond.
Poetry, fiction, and visual art may be submitted in the below file types. Musical/vocal submissions may be submitted as either a video or audio file. Dance and monologue must be a video submission. Fashion may be video or photographic.
Honorariums of $50 will be paid for selected artists, who will be invited to attend the exhibition and perform/present their work. Preference will be given to artists from marginalized communities.
